Bailandera: Living la vida local
Together with Alaska Films, we produced a documentary that is much more than a portrait of a beer. Bailandera is a living story about the power of the collective, the rural, the self-managed, and the feminine. From the heart of Bustarviejo, this audiovisual project explores how a small craft brewery becomes a driving force for community, identity, and everyday resistance.
With a hybrid approach — poetic yet fresh — the documentary takes us through the fields, the town squares, the stories of its founders, the gatherings at the local bar, and the rituals of production. All of it, narrated through a close and emotional visual narrative, blending still shots with handheld camera, intimate interviews, and visual textures that smell of malt, village life, and summer.
At La Siesta and Alaska Films, we worked to maintain a balance between tradition and modernity. We wanted this documentary to speak not only about a beer, but about everything that ferments around it: connections, care, affection, and resistance.
Through this piece, we tell a story that celebrates the collective as a way of life… with foam, with body, and with soul.
